The number of openings for the GCCC EPI program is limited.  Each interested individual must apply using the form below.  A selection committee will select candidates based on the information provided in the application.  All information submitted will be confidential, and used only for purposes of candidate selection.

Be sure you have read the EPI Overview regarding this program and the EPI Class Schedule before you apply!  The EPI Class Schedule provides information regarding class meeting times, mandatory orientations, dates, and locations.

By submitting this application, you acknowledge that you have a conferred 4-year degree from a regionally accredited institution. (Are you unsure if your institution is regionally accredited/  Click the College Source Website to confirm.)  Contact Florida Department of Education Bureau of Educator Certification at 1-800-445-6739 if you have any questions on this requirement.  Submission of this application acknowledges that there are no guarantees for acceptance into the GCCC EPI program, and that completion of this program does not guarantee employment in any school.  Completion of an EPI program does not in itself fulfill all teacher certification requirements.  Only the Florida Department of Education's Bureau of Educator Certification can determine your individual requirements for teacher certification. 

All accepted candidates will be required to complete the following tasks

1. Fingerprinting Process / Background Check: This must be completed by the first day of classes. Accepted candidates must pay the $63.00 fee associated with this process.In applying for admission to this program, you agree to abide by the statutes of the State of Florida in pursuit of teacher certification. A summary of these statutes can be found here.

2. Official Statement of Status of Eligibility: Candidates must apply for certification from the Florida Department of Education. The current fee is $75.00. By submitting this application, you have voluntarily elected to apply to the program without having received the Official Statement. If you are accepted, you will receive further instructions on applying for this statement.

3. GCCC Admission: All accepted candidates must also apply for admission to Gulf Coast Community College.If you are accepted, you will receive further instructions on applying to the college.
